Athletic Scholarships: How to Get a College Coach Excited About You

by Chris Berg on October 27, 2009

Last Saturday I wrote a post about the 3 Keys to Get an Athletic Scholarship, and one of the things you MUST do is get a college coach to read your information.  One of the easiest and most efficient ways is to write emails to college coaches.

The first step to getting a college coach to read your email is to use attention grabbing subject lines.  See examples below:

The RB You need for your program

Top QB Prospect – 2011

2010 – RB/LB 1st Team All-State

I think you get the idea…give the coaches something that will GRAB their attention, and get them excited about opening your recruiting email.

Second, you need to have a well crafted email to SELL them on your academic and athletic talents and skills.

A lot of athletes email me examples of emails they are sending to college coaches to ask me for feedback. Here is an example of an email that you can send to a college coach…assuming that you have ALL of the RIGHT tools to be effectively recruited.
